In 2013, owner and artistic director, Jon Newport, founded The Movement Project All-Stars. He developed a program that allowed dancers to be creative and inspired in a way that made them think outside the box and explore their own creative movement in every class.

In 2015, Jon Newport, turned The Movement Project All-Stars into his own studio called The Movement Project Dance Center, located in Washington Township Michigan. He did this to allow dancers of every age to have the same experience as the all-star dancers in all genres of dance.

The Movement Project Dance Center offers three levels of training, including recreational, competitive company and all-star programs. Each level provides dancers with hands on, individual attention and a passion for dance. The training pushes dancers out of their comfort zone and turns them into confident, mature and self-expressing young artists. The Movement Project Dance Center provides unique, innovative and creative choreography within the three levels and focuses on the well-being of each dancer.

“Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.” ― Martha Graham
